ONE FC Rise To Power: Warriors of the Philippines

We are just over three weeks out from the upcoming ONE FC: Rise to Power in Manila, Philippines. The fight card is stacked from top to bottom with international MMA superstars from all corners of the globe. However, on May 31^st the spotlight will be on the hometown heroes as they look to prove that Filipino MMA is a force to be reckoned with. Five of the Philippine’s very best mixed martial artists are featured on the card, and they will all go head on with some elite level fighters.

In anticipation of this awesome event, ONE FC recently released a trailer entitled “Warriors of the Philippines”. The trailer showcases the five Filipino warriors that will fight for national pride on May 31^st. Check out the trailer below.

Metamoris II: Estima vs. Vieira (Trailer)

We are now just 4 weeks away from the Metamoris Pro Jiu Jitsu Invitational II. Shinya Aoki is hard at work at Evolve MMA in Singapore preparing for his main event fight against Kron Gracie. It is a submission only format and each fight will have a single 20 minute round. You can bet that under these rules we are going to be treated to some highly entertaining matches.

In one of the events other big match ups, Braulio Estima will take on Rodolfo Vieira. These guys are two of the very best BJJ practitioners in the world, and anytime they step on the mat it is worth watching very closely. Check out the awesome trailer for their fight below. Sugar Ray Robinson Highlight Reel

You can’t have a discussion about the greatest boxers of all time without giving mention of Sugar Ray Robinson. His accomplishments in the sport of boxing are undeniable and his legacy is one that will never be forgotten. By the time he was 19 years old, Sugar Ray had amassed an 85-0 amateur record, with 69 of those victories by knockout. He turned pro in 1940 and over the next 11 years went on a 128-1-2 tear through the sport of boxing. 84 of his 128 wins were by way of knockout. He won both the welterweight and middleweight world titles before retiring in 1952. After two and a half years of retirement he returned to the sport and reclaimed the middleweight world title. He finally retired in 1965 with a career record of 173-19-6. He is without question one of the greatest boxers of all time.

ONE FC: Rise to Power Full Fight Card Released

ONE FC recently released their completely stacked final fight card for ONE FC: Rise to Power. The show is set to go down on May 31^st in Manila, and it will be highlighted by two world championship title fights. ONE FC featherweight champion Honorio “The Rock” Banario will make his first title defense against Koji Oishi, while Koetsu Okazaki and Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes will square off for the interim bantamweight title. In addition to these two title fights, the card is stacked from top to bottom with local and international MMA superstars.

Evolve Honored at the 2013 Asian MMA Awards

Evolve MMA was honored this past weekend at the 2013 Asian MMA Awards. Organized by TheFightNation.com, the winners were chosen via online voting by fans all around the world. Tens of thousands of global fans cast their vote and chose Evolve MMA as the “MMA Gym of the Year”. This is a great honor and we are extremely proud to have won.

Also winning an award was the Evolve Fight Team’s Shinya Aoki. Shinya was voted the “Best Asian Fighter in the World”. Congratulations Shinya on your well deserved recognition!

UFC 160 Preview

After a couple weeks of sabbatical, the UFC will be back on May 25th with UFC 160. This time we will get to see the big boys rumble. The UFC 160 card features the heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Antonio Bigfoot Silva as well as what could quite possibly be the number one contender bout between Junior Dos Santos and Mark Hunt. Check out the awesome first preview for the event below. UFC 160 promises to be a night of heavy hitting action.

ONE ASIA MMA SUMMIT 2013 (video)

For the past 3 days the biggest players in Asian MMA have been gathered at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore for the biggest MMA summit in Asian history. Keynote speakers at the event featured the likes of Renzo Gracie, Rich Franklin, Victor Cui, Evolve Founder Chatri Sityodtong, and countless others. To say that the future of Asian MMA is bright would be an understatement. Asian MMA is in the midst of an explosion, and it will soon be the biggest market for MMA in the world. The charge is being lead by ONE FC, and after this weekend’s events it is safe to say they are firmly in control.

Check out this awesome video that was presented by ONE FC at the summit. They are truly doing incredible things for the sport, and as the video so boldy states, they are just getting started.
